LED Neon Hearts Biofeedback

This is a work in progress. I am creating two LED neon hearts that are each hooked up to a heartbeat sensor via an Arduino Uno microcontroller. I in interested to learn whether two people, seeing their heartbeats visualized alongside each other, will find that their heartbeats become more synchronized. Perhaps they won’t! The synchronization pattern of the heartbeats from the time the two people are connected to the sensors will be recorded in graphing software and output as a data visualization.

This is the schematic I created in a free tool called Fritzing to show how the sensors and LED neon connect to the Arduino.

The video below shows one of the sensors reading my heartbeat from my fingertip. It is transmitted through the Arduino microcontroller and pushed out to the LED neon rope. (Whoops, I filmed vertically.) This was filmed as I was figuring out the wiring, before I shaped the LED neon rope into hearts.
